LABOR DAY

Yesterday was Labor Day! It was the first day off Eric has had in a month...that's right i said month. He has been working 7 days a week for the last 4 weeks. Sucks huh, you have no idea. We decided to do something fun with the boys, since they haven't really seen him at all. So, we took them to the zoo. They had a blast! The last time we went to the zoo Carson was only a few months old, it has been over a year! It was an interesting trip. We took the kids to Wendy's for lunch, they love their nuggets, and there was this weird guy there. Eric said he was having war flash backs, which he very well could have been. Anyways, he was eating in the booth kitty-corner to us, and next thing we know he is chucking his dog tags across the room. Then he kept putting his head in his hands and glancing out the corner of his eye over to where his tags were. I know weird right? Well it freaked me out, something was wrong with this guy.
Then i decided that since we were already on N. Temple street it would be faster to go through the Avenues. With my old job, going through there was a frequent thing so I thought it would be easy. Well, not so much. I made it through there but it would have just been easier up Foothill. So apparently my driving directions are not as they were 5 years ago!!
The zoo was CROWDED!! Everybody and their dog was there. I don't know how, but every time we go somewhere we always end up following obnoxious people. This trip it was a big family, and the moms of all the kids kept yelling, and yelling. Eric is not a person to just ignore things like that so you can only imagine the things he was saying to me....LOUDLY! The kids had a great time though and that's all that matters. We took them on the train ride very last, and i have never seen Mak's eyes so big in my life! I think it was the highlight of his day! Anyways, here are some pictures of our adventure...sorry no pictures of the crazy people we encountered!!

9 ring armadillo

King vulture, Mak was more fascinated with the dead birds on the ground...their food!

Sick!

This is the first time i actually saw the elephants do something bedsides stand there...

A helicopter kept flying over head, and this guy was very interested

He was like this for 10 minutes

The building was closed and this was the only one outside

Looking at the tigers

Mak was daddy's buddy today...

These guys didn't do anything until people started holding their kids up by the fence right there. It was right by the face of the closest one, the other came over to check it out. They look like they are going hunting.

Our one winged eagle

could you imagine this???

Carson wouldn't hold still, he was naughty this day

He knew we were watching and wouldn't look over
All the animals are lazy at our zoo

This guy would throw things over himself and then peek out to see if people were still there.

Poor guy was shy

UGLY!!!

Bats, they were probably the most active...sad

So Cute

Here is another reason why i absolutely love big dogs. My kids love these dogs, and my dogs love my kids! Justice always has to lay with Mak, and if your in the way he will sit on top of you. I will say one thing though it is a very good thing we have a big couch.

This is a regular occurrence in this house. Look at the weird position he is laying in! It totally doesn't look comfortable, but he stayed asleep that way. I guess that is a good thing about being a kid...you don't get sore when you lay in certain positions.

Zoey usually goes off and lies by herself, but Carson wanted to lay by her this time. She doesn't mind too much...They were all so cute last night!!!

Basket Boy!!

I have know idea where this obsession came from, but he LOVES my laundry baskets! This first picture was taken when he was about 12 months. I was at work, and Eric sent this to me....

Here he is before Eric folded the laundry. He has his cheez-its and he is comfy!

This last one was taken about 33 months. He was found at my mom's house in her laundry baskets! He is still like this today. He will push my baskets around the house all day. When we had the puppies with us, he would put the puppies in the basket and push them around. He is so funny...and CUTE!!!

HOLY RELAY!!!

So many of you may know that this past weekend I did probably the most insane thing i have ever done. I participated in THE GRAND TETON RELAY!!! It was 184 miles of mountain trails, and highway roads. Our team did really well for the novices that we were, and I think we had a lot of fun. The race started in Ashton Idaho, up to Grand Targhee, and ended in Jackson Wyoming. Such a beautiful place to be running.  Anybody who has been up there knows those roads are NOT flat. We went up the mountains and then back down, through the farming feilds and anywhere else you can think of. What a wonderful experience though. Thanks Melynda and Jessyka for giving me this chance to do this...I am SOOOO looking forward to doing it again! These are pictures of the beautiful landscapes up there. I wasn't able to get alot of pictures because we were running alot, but these are the best ones.

SOOOO PRETTY!!!!!! Sorry about the picture quality, most of these were taken from the moving car!

Playin at the Park!

Last week, before I left for my relay, the boys and I went to the park to burn some extra energy. They had such a fun time there. They loved the slides the best. I learned that Mak is a HUGE climber! We don't get out to the park very often so when we do go they go all out. It is so nice to have a park so close to the house. Anyways these are some of the pictures that we took while we were there. Mak was being a stinker and kept running away when I brought out the camera, but I got some good ones!

I can't get rid of his binki!!!

He made me nervous climbing up all these things. He did really good though, and had to do it a million times!

Carson found this hill, and he decided to roll down it! It was really pretty funny. He laughed really hard.

This was when he was running away from me. I kinda caught it at the end...

UPDATE...

So there is probably nothing fun about this post, but i want to tell about some up coming events that are happening.
First off: on August 18th, i leave to go run in this insane relay. It's called the GRAND TETON RELAY. I am not exactly sure where my brain was when i agreed to do this, but i have paid so it's a done deal. I am excited for it as well, I just know that I haven't been training exactly the way i have wanted to. What this is, is 185 miles of pure Idaho/Wyoming terrain. Some are roads and some are trails. I am one of the lucky ones on a trail i guess...at least that is what she thought. We will see what happens. I think I am more nervous about leaving my kids home with their dad for a whole weekend...this has never happened!! I know they will be fine, but YIKES!
Secondly: I am starting school again. I know crazy right, but it is mandatory that i finish...and soon. I will be so glad when i never have to step foot in a classroom again. The last time i went while i was married and had children, I was pregnant with Carson and i only had one class. Now I have 2 very busy boys, full time work and a full time student status. Can you say YIKES again! I am so blessed though, I have been offered so much help with watching my kids so i can study. I honestly don't know that some of these "volunteers" know what they just signed up for. We will see how everything works out. One day at a time. I think this is what i will have to live by for the next year. I am hoping to be able to get into the nursing program by next fall. We will see about the waiting list though. I have no idea how long it is now, back in 2006 it was about 2 years waiting. I hope it is not that long anymore. That is too long to wait.
Anyways now everybody is up to speed on my up coming life. I will try to post like normal, but I am not sure of the time I will have. We will see...

AWWWWWWW!!!

So i don't ever know what happens while i am at work, and to be honest i don't know if i want to. The other morning i got home, same as any other morning, and i found this....

They were cuddling, and in my bed! It was the cutest thing i have ever seen. They are so mean sometimes, so seeing this really makes me feel better about that. They slept perfectly, i on the other hand slept curled up at the foot of the bed like a dog so they wouldn't wake up...the things i do for a little sleep!
